BUETian Entrepreneurs Meetup

More than 150 BUETian Entrepreneurs and CEOs met at BUET graduates club on July 20, 2022. Eminent business professionals like Energypac Power Chairman Rabiul Alam, BBS Cables Chairman Abu Noman Howlader, Synesis IT Managing Director Shohorab Ahmed Chowdhury, Chapainawabganj Bikalpa Engineering Managing Director Mahtab Uddin and Maslow Bangladesh Managing Director Sharmin Afroz Shumi graced that occasion as the special guests. Among the distinguished guests were BUET’s Research and Innovation Center for Science and Engineering Director Prof Dr Mohammad Anisuzzaman Taukder, Prof Celia Shahnaz, Prof Shaikh Anowarul Fattah and Prof. Shazzad Hosain.

Entrepreneurs from different engineering sectors and different ages met this event to connect and share their experiences among themselves. They also discussed helping each other, promoting research and development, as well as developing entrepreneurship mindset among BUETian students and graduates. Dr. Shazzad Hosain pointed out that MIT, Stanford and all other renowned universities have entrepreneurship development centers and thus he emphasized that BUET students needed institutional support to become successful entrepreneurs. He also mentioned the importance of industry academia collaboration to develop high growth potential startups in Bangladesh, where BUET can play a vital role to lead the nation. Besides, other BUETian members Zahid Hasan, Nayeem Ahmed, Gazi Md. Sahabuddin and Mohammad Abu Taiob also spoke at the event. The event finally ended with a gala dinner.
