Concept Note
1. Introduction

The BUETEN Summit 2026 aims to bring together the entire BUET community—students, alumni, entrepreneurs, faculty members, researchers, innovators, and industry leaders—to celebrate entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration. As Bangladesh enters a new era of technological and economic growth, BUET graduates are increasingly founding impactful startups, shaping global industries, and contributing to national development. This summit creates a platform to showcase these achievements, strengthen networking across generations, and ignite an entrepreneurial mindset among current students.

2. Objectives

  •        Foster stronger collaboration among BUET students, alumni, faculty, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
  •        Promote entrepreneurship and innovation within the BUET community.
  •        Provide a platform for BUETEN founders to showcase their ventures and recruit top BUET talent.
  •        Facilitate dialogue between BUET, industry leaders, policymakers, and government officials for business-friendly policies.
  •        Inspire future innovators through success stories, mentorship, and peer learning.
  •        Enable structured collaboration on key engineering and technology fields through focused round-table sessions.

3. Key Segments of the Summit

A. BUETEN Business & Innovation Expo (Jan 23, 24)

A flagship exhibition where BUETian entrepreneurs and founders showcase their startups, products, and innovations.

Highlights:

  •        Booths & demonstration zones for entrepreneurs and startups.                                                                         
  •        Innovation prototypes (hardware, software, energy, civil/structural solutions, architecture, mechanical engineering, naval architecture etc.)
  •        Companies collect CVs from BUET students and graduates                                                                                               
  •        Networking between entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and faculty                                                                    

B. Success Stories Session

Inspirational talks from accomplished BUETian entrepreneurs, founders, and industry leaders.
Purpose:

  •        Share personal journeys, challenges, and lessons                                                                      
  •        Motivate young BUETians to pursue entrepreneurship                                                                
  •        Highlight BUET’s contributions to Bangladesh’s economic landscape                                          

C. Business Idea Competition

A competition for BUET students and alumni to present innovative business ideas.
Features:

  •        Mentorship from experienced alumni entrepreneurs                                                     
  •        Evaluation by investors, industry professionals, and academics                                                                 
  •        Attractive prize money                                                                                                                               
  •        Post-event support and introductions to potential investors or incubation opportunities

D. Parallel Panel Discussions

The summit will host multiple specialized panel discussions to foster deeper collaboration across disciplines.

E. Cultural Evening / Music Festival

A vibrant musical event to celebrate the BUET spirit and strengthen community bonding.
